THE POWER OF FLIGHT

Before making comparison between the Bald Eagle and an Airplane, I would like to talk about each one of them. First the Bald Eagle is a powerful flier, and soars on thermal convection currents. It reaches speed of 35-45 miles per hour when gliding and flapping, and about 30 miles per hour while carrying fish. Its dive speed is about 75-99 miles per hour, though it seldom dives vertically. It is partially migratory, depending on location. The Bald Eagle selects migratory routes which take advantage of thermals, updrafts, and food resources. During migration, it may ascend in updrafts created by wind against a cliff or other terrains. Migration generally takes place during the daytime, when thermals are produced by the sun.

The Bald Eagle is the national bird of the United States of America. On June 20, 1782, the continental congress adopted the still current design for the Great Seal of the United States including the Bald Eagle grasping 13 arrows and a 13-leaf olive branch with its talons. The Bald Eagle appears on most official seals of the U.S government, including the seal of the President of the United States and the Presidential Flag, and in many U.S federal agency logos.

Airplane is typically a powered fixed-wing aircraft that is propelled forward by thrust from a jet engine or propeller. Another name of aero plane is an aircraft, a vehicle that is able to fly by gaining support from the air, or, in general, the atmosphere of a planet. Planes come in a variety of sizes, shapes and wings configurations. The broad spectrum of use of planes includes recreation, transportation of goods and people, military, and research. The wings of the airplane cause it to lift and stay in the air. Bernoulli’s theory applied to flight: the curved upper surface of the wing forces the air to increase its speed as it flows over the top in order to reach the trailing edge of the wing at the same time as the air flowing in the path below the wing with the increase in speed on top, the pressure decreases. This change makes the pressure pushing up from under the greater than the pressure down on the top of the wing, so the wing moves up naturally.

It is critical that air flows evenly around and over the wings during flight so that friction and drag are kept at a minimum. The surface of the wing is kept smooth by the overlapping placement of the flight features. Bernoulli’s principle also applies to the Bald Eagle‘s wing: the distinct shape of a wing is known as an airfoil. Lift is produced by the motion of an airfoil, or wing, moving through the air. The special shape of the airfoil, or wing, is what produces a change in air pressure above the wing by deflecting or turning the air. As the wing moves through the air, air goes above and below. The upper surface has a longer surface distance. In order for the two air stream to meet at the trailing edge of the wing at the same time, the top air must go faster. Increased speed equals decreased pressure, equals lift; hence the power of flight in both the air plane and the Bald Eagle.

I think the blind man and the woman are both artist and that is why the get along so much and her husband was in military.The woman is describing the blind man story in poetry and how he lost his wife.The husband did like anything about the whole story but he looks lazy and unfriendly to the handicap.The blind man look like someone who was religious and it is like he lost it on the way and its like he is struggling with his current life,that is why when they talk about cathedral,his mood change and he seems troubled.

Micro Project 5

Entropy is a degree of disorder or randomness in the system.It is a thermodynamic property that can be used to determine the energy not available for work in a thermodynamic process,such as in energy conversion process.Entropy accumulates in the system,which then dissipate in a form of waste heat.It determines that thermal energy always flow spontaneously from a region of high temperature to region of law temperature in the form of heat. These process reduce the state of order of initial system,therefore entropy is an expression of disorder or randomness. In my example it consist of the surrounding that is the warm room and the system that is the glass,ice and cold water and the entropy of the system increases,whereas the entropy of the surrounding decreases.I have used the sound of a cracking ice to describe the minimal sound of the melting ice and i really like it.
Open is like a mystery,it is being used in many areas of our life.Open is used in mathematics as in open problem,it is used in music and media,also used in electronic and computer science,it is used in language and literature and very many aspects of our daily life.I have used open in a book that is what i do everyday in my life at least i must do it since i started going to school. I have been doing it without my concept of the word open. This is an interesting phenomenon that is why i want to remind myself and do open a book several time to awaken actions i do everyday and to remember the word open.

When i was young in my childhood i could go to the sea and surf through small waves using improvised surf board and without clothes.On the background i have used my imaginary to describe the real action of surfing through the powerful waves.             

 Surfing the waves is my favorite sport and i have put superman cartoon and my head to describe me, and with the superman power i can surf through the waves without the surfing board. On the background image describe my real surfing action without a superpower even though it is really powerful to surf through powerful waves. 

Generally waves are really powerful and they look big and scaring,that is why i have used my superwoman cartoon to overcome its power 

Micro-project 3

I decided to chose this place because not many people pass through here,its not a common place for everybody. My object that is the garden describe the nature of college which i like and my buck eye ball to describe the nearness of the stadium and this will pick the attention of someone passing by to foccus on what is inside there and why.This is not really funny,but descriptive.

Real life takes lots of imagination at the back of our minds and unknown picture on our next foots step. Things have happen and become reasonable or rather complete after connections of different ideas and creativity. My layer is really simple with a white background to make every object clear and focus to the audience. The objects describe just me and my surroundings. The words i have used are straight and simple and this have given my thinking and perceptions to go beyond what is around me and do more research. This has made me to have courage and determinations in doing things generally.

Journey Begins

Long and endless destiny storm into my mind. I did not have a clear picture of where i was going but i had imaginary ideas about the destiny. The text portrays where i was going was a place i have never been before but was determined to arrive. The color i have used make the photo cool and calm mood.I decided to put the tower of the bridge because it contributed to arrival of my destiny also its full of beauty of art.Finally the photo of my image riding on the college bus and holding a school bag give an idea of transit to the destiny.

My First Day in School

Early in the morning on my first day to start classes, I decided to buy my parking ticket as I go to my first class. However, I managed to get the Transportation and parking main office and on arrival fear came to me because the queue was long and I knew I will not be in class on time. In the front desk of the office I bought my parking ticket and was told that I will connect a bus to get my classes and the attendant gave me a bus route map and a brief description to my class. This was a very big blow to me because all was out of my expectations.  

I entered the bus and I did not pay attention to any progress but rather look on the buildings so that I may alight next to the stadium. The building was so big such that I could not figure out where to find the class and to make it worse I did not see the figure which was written on my time table and I had to go all round the stadium. I decided check on next figure to the one I had and fortunately I climbed the stairs and found the class but was half an hour late.

There are various things I did not see on that day, for example the slide show writings in front of the bus showing the next stopping station and time, also I did not recognize or rather saw the stop request string in the bus. That’s the day I will live to remember because I laugh at myself when I think about it because it was a hard day.

The Accidental Masterpiece

I agree with the author when he said there is no qualification for writing art and also many essays are driven more by themes. It’s obvious when he said that art provides us with clues about how to live our own life more fully; also creating, collecting and eve just appreciating art can make living a daily masterpiece.

I propose when he said art is an intense and often self-conscious unworldly devotion to our circumscribed routine and proper attitude towards art as critic, also making a work of art with no reasonable prospect that anybody would ever notice it. I like when he said that you calibrate your own estimation of a thing based on the value you anticipate and others will assign it.

I like when he said art is a good taste of an open argument and not a list of acceptable items where no limits can be placed on the tendency; in fact it constantly needs to refresh itself with new outrage.

Interpreting Visual Culture

Art can also be revealed through cultural background information. Like in this passage, the author illustrates the distinction between two subjects that is denotation and connotation and the use of different language to represent a certain culture. The artist also has used painting to describe the African American culture and how it has made an influence in the surrounding. This shows how art can make changes in the society either negative or positive hence conflict the big idea.

In the magazine cover, culture has been used to describe and illustrate the whole big ideas. The artist is describing the denoted image of the women and everything about them. There is also the use of cultural language which can describe who they are for example “Booty Camp”. The connoted image of the women gives an expression of who they are and what they do. Their aggressive attire is symbolic rather than practical. Finally cultural interpretation is affecting children as per the Tee-shirts, Teddy Bears, Cereals and Boxes denotations and connotations.

Big ideas and Art making

I agree when the author says that big ideas can expand our art making concerns beyond technical skills, formal choices and media manipulation to human issues and conceptual concern. Big ideas can engage us in deeper level of thinking. Becoming personally connected to a big idea is highly important for art making. Big ideas represent the artist’s overall purpose for art making, and they tell in broad conceptual terms what the artist is about.

 Themes become a big idea when it persists throughout an artist’s body of work. Subject matter is the artist topic, whereas big ideas are the artist concept that is what creates the main body of art making for example, for Jennifer Bartlett’s, gardens are the subject matter but her big ideas are houses,boats,oceans and landscapes. Big ideas are rules and systems represented by human attempts to impose order and meaning. Artist frequently transfer big ideas from one subject to another.

Interests

The author has portrayed a picture of art using parables or rather certain words with different meaning for example “Townies going up and down the land” which describe people going through change in technology. Going from left to right is part of our daily life and everything we do “We are western world. We read, see, think. Left. Right. We can’t help it” Top to bottom has been described by nature that is gravity and hence everything that goes up must come down. Big and small has been used to imply photography and zooming it all which shows the power of manipulating arts to give a real meaning. In front of and in back of has been used to display images to appear in real world.

I disagree with the author for using virus to mean enemy in technical terms. There is no direct meaning in the content, everything is confusing.

THE HERESY OF ZONE DEFENSE

Interests

The story describes exactly the flow of the game and how players use techniques to lay the ball up into the basket. The author describes the project of a well planned and organized game to the extent of completing it with success hence making fun to the audience, for example when Kareem’s perfect defense made Erving’s instantaneous, pluperfect response to it both necessary and possible. The author describe basketball as a fine art, can educate and much beloved public spectacle. This also leads to programming designs systems and hence professional basketball, and however art wins.

One thing that bothers me is that, sports are not part of me especially basketball and it’s making my nerves bored and tired. I disagree when the author declined the man to man defense because even if that rule exists still the offense can create a design to disorient the plan.

Introductory about myself

Life is an interesting opportunity on earth especially when art becomes everything in it. I was born in the horn of Africa in Kenya and became a wonderful lady in sports and athletics, but there is one thing which has dissolved the sports and athletic in my blood and that is technology revolution and change in career,and commercial globalization.

Technology has given me lots of interests, that is arts or rather gospel music, passion on guitar and piano and chemical engineering as a career. Craft has become part of my life, for example crotching. Design and creativity has allowed me to make certain simple pattern of a bed cover.

I decided to take arts education because it will awaken my creativity on design and critical thinking to do things on my surrounding that is in my career and outside my career. Acquiring knowledge from school is my major interest and I know with the help of my lecture and fellow students and hard work, then light will appear at the end of the tunnel.

When it comes to what I like and places I like gives me a picture of a conservative person that’s why I am doing art education. I like watching CNN and HLN news and other news channels like BBC because I have lots of interest on globalization. Scientific channels are also part of my interest because of my career Chemical Engineering. I like cooking my own food but sometimes eat at steak and shake and donatos.
